Join us!Position OverviewThe IT Governance Specialist will serve as a key member of Accordion’s IT Security and Governance function, supporting the design, execution, and monitoring of policies, controls, and compliance programs. Reporting to the IT Governance Manager, this Associate-level role provides both strategic governance support and hands-on operational execution across audits, vendor management, risk documentation, and training initiatives. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and is motivated to build a strong foundation in IT governance and compliance.This position can be based in any of our US office locations and is a hybrid role.This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.What You’ll DoPolicy and Process Management Assist in drafting, reviewing, and maintaining IT governance policies and proceduresMaintain organized documentation of policies, audit trails, and risk registersManage the policy review lifecycle, ensuring version control and accessibilityCompliance Monitoring and Risk SupportSupport organizational compliance with frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, and NISTConduct periodic compliance reviews and help identify and track risk mitigation actionsMaintain risk registers and support the creation of governance dashboards and reportsVendor Management Assist in assessing vendor compliance, tracking contract status, and maintaining vendor risk documentationCoordinate with internal teams to ensure vendor-related governance requirements are metAudit Preparation and SupportPrepare, organize, and maintain documentation to support internal and external audit processesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to address findings and track remediation progressReporting and MetricsDevelop and maintain metrics and dashboards for governance performance, risk posture, and compliance activitySupport the IT Governance Manager in preparing reports and presentations for leadershipTraining and AwarenessCoordinate and track governance-related training initiatives and awareness campaignsMaintain completion records and compile feedback for continuous improvementOperational and Meeting Support Support meeting coordination, including agenda creation, action tracking, and status reportingAssist with workflow management, project tracking, and cross-functional governance operationsCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with IT, Legal, People, and Operations teams to ensure alignment on governance and compliance initiativesContribute to broader governance and risk management projectsYou HaveBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field2+ years of experience in IT governance, compliance, or related operational support rolesFamiliarity with governance and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NISTExperience supporting vendor risk assessments and audit preparationStrong organizational and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to proactively manage competing prioritiesProcess-oriented mindset, with a passion for improving structure and documentationThe ability to build effective cross-departmental relationships by being a collaborative and communicative team playerCuriosity and drive to develop deep expertise in IT governance, risk, and complianceYou AreExcited to be part of a growing team, with a focus on driving future growthPassionate about delivering exceptional client serviceKnowledgeable about the relationship between Private Equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, particularly within the office of the CFOWilling to get your hands dirty in the details of a project while simultaneously seeing the whole pictureComfortable managing projects with multiple complex workstreams while also focused on your single workstream (you are managing and doing)A self-starter with a strong work ethicFull of entrepreneurial spirit and comfortable in a fluid, flat organizationAble to effectively communicate complex issues and solutions, and raise issues to senior team members when necessaryA team player, able to work with team members across all levelsSomeone who enjoys mentoring others and doing meaningful workA leader of others; you lead by exampleActual compensation packages are determined by evaluating a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, years and depth of experience, education, certifications, cost of labor and internal equity.Accordion is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
