We make UAE a safer place by providing secure electronic payment solutions, cyber security systems and communications as well as security systems for Dubai International Airport and air traffic management and navigation systems for Abu Dhabi’s airport.Title : IT/HW EngineerLocation : Abu Dhabi ( Tawazun Industrial Park )Objective : The IT Infrastructure Engineer contributes in the specification, design, implementation, testing and support of the IT infrastructure in assigned projects within the UAE.Roles & Responsibilities :Responsible for the delivery of project deliverables concerning the IT Infrastructure (system requirements, high-level and low level design documents, requests for quotation to suppliers, interface documents, installation and maintenance procedures, test procedures and reports)Activities :analyze user and system requirements, derive and specify requirements for the IT and HW infrastructurework with the DevOps and Integration & Test teams to define the specifications for the implementationwork with CAD team to provide inputs and review for: single-line, wiring and installation drawingsinterface with suppliers and subcontractorsdefine hardware specifications,request for quotation,requirements and scope of work for subcontractors and suppliersfollow-up production, acceptance tests, deliveryobsolescence managementpresent requirements and specifications of implementation to the Infrastructure teampeer review of requirements, specifications, test procedures and manuals (user, administration, maintenance)participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint planning & Review, Daily, Retrospective)Prepare Bill of Materials and Definition files (electrical drawing, mechanical drawings)Follow up procurement of COTSprepare training materials and conduct training to peers and customersattend site survey visits and prepare site survey reportsdefine test procedures and conduct hardware and installation acceptance testsspecify requirements and supervise hardware and safety auditsparticipate in internal and customer technical meetingsTechnologies :RS232, RS422, discrete signaling, Ethernet, electrical cablingElectrical Mechanical CAD drawing (AutoCad, Cadence)Network: Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent, Fortinet, Dell server and storage bay technologiesDatacenter:cabling: power, structured cabling system, coaxial, discreet wiredata and server cabinetpowerline network, UPSenvironment requirementsdatacenter standards (TIA-942)Radio: military radios or professional mobile radiosWork Experience requirements:5 years’ experience in a technical design capacity (IT/HW engineering), hardware engineering and engineering development lifecyclesExperience in integration with radio communication systems (VHF/UHF communications)Proven experience in leading engineering activity through design lifecycle and platform installation preferably in military or defence industryUnderstanding of EMC fundamentals, low voltage directive, CE markingWorking experience in the following domains: server, storage, virtualization, networkExperience in implementing IT security controls (endpoint protection, PKI, server hardening, network security, VM security)Experience in the full IT Infrastructure project lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, installation, test and handoverQualification and Educational Requirements :BSc in computer science or equivalent qualificationQualifications in IT Infrastructure subsystems (network, communication, datacenter, virtualization, software integration, etc.)Preferred certifications in VMware, Linux System AdministrationMust have high fluency in spoken and written EnglishFrench and/or Arabic would be an added advantagePreferred Skills:Technical document writingRequirements management and specificationsArchitecture modelingGood technical analysis and problem solving skillsAble to work in a multi-disciplined technology environmentAble to coordinate with external contractors and suppliersCustomer facing skills (meetings/presentations)HSE Responsibilities :Take care of your own safety and the safety of others as far as is practicable.To use safety equipment (including PPE) as required and intendedAt Thales we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
