Role OverviewWe are pleased to announce a vacancy within the Eason Book Buying Team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the retail sector and publishing industry. They will demonstrate an understanding of the principles of buying and awareness of best practice in this area. They must be able to effectively interact and manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Applicants should also have a passion for books, and enthusiasm for contributing to Easons book offering within the industry.Role SynopsisAs Junior Buyer (Books), your primary responsibilities will be delivery of budget revenue and gross margin for the assigned ranges. You will be tasked with establishing and maintaining a planning approach to the assigned ranges consistent with the Retail Strategy and engaging with relevant stakeholders including retail operations and publishing contacts to understand market needs and emerging trends.Candidate ProfileKnowledge of the book retail business.Excellent relationship management skillsExperience in buying and vendor managementPro-active teamwork engagementStrong understanding of gross margin management, pricing and discounting practicesAbility to interpret data and make decisions based on analysis.Customer centric focusStrong attention to detail.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is critical.MS Dynamics AX experience is idealA relevant 3rd level degree or equivalent*Please note this is an on-site role based at our Support Office in Swords, Co.
