Location: Owen Sound, OntarioType: In the OfficeOur Owen Sound branch is looking for an enthusiastic Junior CAD Operator to join their team! The ideal candidate is an entry-level professional who is highly motivated, with an interest in pursuing a career as a CAD Operator in the fire and life safety industry.Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd. is one of the largest suppliers of Fire Alarm, Fire Suppression, Security, Nurse call and Communications Systems in Canada. An entrepreneurial company with a legacy of success, we pride ourselves on having a team of industry leading talent and an exciting plan for the future.Troy is a 2025 winner of the Canada's Best Managed program!ResponsibilitiesWork with experienced CAD Operators to revise engineering drawingsWork within CAD software, utilizing all functions & enhancements to optimize time required to create or update existing architectural layoutsDevelop knowledge of and follow drafting proceduresAssist in preparing PDFs of architectural drawings for sales/client review, as part of approval processAssist in preparing schematic riser drawings or wiring diagrams in conjunction with the Rack & Test teamAssist in preparing Fire Alarm Passive Graphic drawings from approval to release to productionAssist in preparing Fire Alarm Device/Architectural Layout drawings from approval to customer acceptance, including scaled drawings in imperial and metric formatsOther related duties as assignedRequired Skills/QualificationsSecondary School Diploma or equivalentExperience with CAD and/or high school courses in technical drafting/wiring considered an assetWilling to take college level CAD courses (paid training by the company)Proficient Microsoft Office Programs, specifically Excel requiredAbility and willingness to take direction as part of a mentorship program/positionTroy Life & Fire Safety Ltd. offers an excellent compensation package, including a comprehensive benefits program.
