We are approximately 50 people, with 20 different nationalities, working every day to support companies in energy and commodity markets. Our clients are global, including major players in power, natural gas, and renewable energy markets.Role OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and analytically minded Junior Analyst with demonstrated interest in energy markets, energy economics, and the energy transition to join our Market Analysis team based in Haarlem, the Netherlands. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career professional looking to develop expertise in European energy markets while contributing to cutting-edge analytical work for our diverse client base.In this role, you will support our consulting team in delivering high-quality market analysis, price forecasting, and asset valuation services to clients including utilities, renewable energy developers, investors, and traders. You will work closely with senior analysts and consultants, gaining exposure to the full range of KYOS models and services and developing your analytical and technical capabilities. You will publish the results of your work online platforms and represent KYOS as an expert in the field.Key ResponsibilitiesMarket Analysis & ResearchConduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of European energy markets, including power, gas, and renewable energy markets.Monitor and interpret market developments, regulatory changes, and their implications for energy markets.Support the development and maintenance of fundamental market models as well as KYOS’ suite of asset valuation and trading models.Contribute to advisory projects covering power plants, gas storage, renewable generation, battery storage, PPAs, and other flexible energy assets.Data Management & ModellingCollect, process, and analyze energy market data using the KYOS Analytical Platform and other analytical tools.Assist in building and maintaining quantitative models for asset valuation, including battery energy storage systems, power purchase agreements, power plants, and gas storage.Support Monte Carlo simulations and stochastic optimization analysis for client projects.Client Support & DeliverablesAssist in preparing client reports, presentations, and analytical deliverables.Support senior consultants in responding to client inquiries and requests.Participate in client meetings and presentations as appropriate.Compile reports and write short reports to increase KYOS online visibilityTechnical DevelopmentLearn and apply the KYOS software suite, including modules for power market fundamentals, power plant and battery optimization, gas storage, and price simulations.Support the continuous improvement of analytical methodologies and tools by providing feedback and analysis to the quant development team.Required QualificationsEducationBachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Environmental Science.Must be fluent in English.Technical Skills• Strong proficiency in data analysis and financial modelling using Excel or statistical software packages.• Good understanding of statistical analysis and quantitative methods.• Comfortable working with large datasets and conducting data-driven analysis.• Familiarity with a programming language such as Python.Soft SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Clear communication skills, especially written, with ability to convey complex information concisely.Proactive, eager to learn, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.What We Offer• Professional Development: Training and mentorship from experienced energy market professionals.• Impact: Contribute to the energy transition by supporting clients in making better decisions in complex energy markets.• Cutting-Edge Technology: Access to industry-leading software and analytical tools through the KYOS Analytical Platform.• Diverse Projects: Exposure to a wide range of consulting projects across different energy markets, asset classes, and client types.• Collaborative Culture: Work in a team-oriented environment where knowledge sharing and continuous learning are valued.• International Environment: Work in a team with 20 nationalities in an office at the heart of Haarlem (close to the station)How to ApplyIf you are passionate about energy markets, eager to develop your analytical skills, and excited about contributing to a more sustainable energy future, we would love to hear from you.
