Job Description

TitleTechnical Professional Leader - ProcessResponsibilitiesLeading or working within a team of process engineers you will advise, and contribute to the following: Leading a team either within a large project or for smaller projectsControl manhours and budget and ensure process work is completed in line with the project scheduleApproval, checking or support the production of: process simulations to produce heat and material balances,process and utility flow diagrams,piping and instrument diagrams,calculations for the design or rating of equipment and apparatus such as heat exchangers, vessels, reactors, etc. and to develop system design parameters.

process hydraulic calculations for pump and line sizingpiping and instrument data to support downstream disciplinesLeading the development of concepts from client specificationsSupporting and producing technical and techno-economic studiesResponsible for the development of advanced controls/process optimizationLiaison with other disciplines, project management and clientEssentialSkills / Experience: Experience leading a team of more than 10 process engineers. Experience communicating across a multi-discipline team and across different offices. Understanding of requirements of other disciplines as part of project execution. Experience of workhour control and working to schedule and within budget on a major project.

Good organizational skillsDevelop presentations and experience communicating with client teamUnderstanding of development of proposals for new projectsMust drive quality within the process team and ensure high standards are met in terms of consistency and checking of deliverablesClear understanding of complex equipment sizing calculations and have experience specifying equipmentExperience of complex relief valve sizing cases and preparation of calculationsExperience of vessel and exchanger specification and sizingExperience taking a leading role in a safety review (HazOp / SIL / LOPA)Experience of developing hydraulic calculations for complex circuitsGood understanding of process control and experience developing/checking cause and effect diagramsStrong written communication skills and experience of writing technical reports.

Self-motivated and good communication skills to enable effective team working. Flexibility to work across a number of different technologies. DesirableExperience building simulation models in Hysys / Promax or similar simulation tool for complex simulations and ability to explain / train younger engineersExperience of working on conceptual studiesExperience training / mentoring younger engineers either informally or through a formal training schemeHas attained chartership status / equivalent with a recognized institutionQualificationsBSc degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent15+ years' experience working with a major EPC contractor or operator.
