This position will provide the opportunity to be part of a team that contributes towards the exciting growth of the geochemical industry in Tanzania.We are looking for a dedicated and professional Laboratory Manager for our New Luika Mine site Laboratory who has the following skills and experience. LABORATORY MANAGERThe Laboratory Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the Laboratory. LOCATION: New Luika Site, Mbeya, Tanzania RESPONSIBILITIESMaintaining Quality Standards Ensuring Compliance with safety and quality protocols Monitor ongoing jobs and investigating any overdue taskEnsure proper functionality of Laboratory equipment and coordinate repairs. Maintain adequate inventory of consumables and place orders as required.Implement quality control procedures and maintain quality documentationEnsure laboratory policies are effectively communicated and enforces among staffProvide technical guidance to coordinators, analysts and operatorsMonitoring staffing levels and recommend adjustments as necessaryStay updated on Laboratory developments Track monthly revenue and sample volumes relative to budget, forecast future revenue and sample volumes.Cost ManagementDevelop relationships with clients Respond to inquiries in a timely manner Approve /disapprove sample analysis procedure Approve /disapprove timesheets To perform duties as trained and authorised in the training matrix. REQUIREMENTS Knowledge & Skills Required:Familiarity with Assay laboratory operations Excellent English and Swahili language skills, both written and verbalOutstanding organisational skillsExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle multiple assignmentsMS Office proficiencyStrong communication skillsStrong and leadership and technical skill. Training & Education Required:Bachelor of Science degree majoring in either Chemistry, Chemical and Processing Engineering, Metallurgy, Laboratory Technology or any other related discipline from an accredited institution. Master’s degree in any of the above disciplines will be added advantage. Experience Required:5-10 of Mineral Assay laboratory experience.Minimum of 2 years in a Managerial role.Well versed in the operation of LIMS.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Experience working in multinational and culturally diverse environments.
