Role - Lead Civil Works Engineer Location - Ostend, Belgium Mint Selection are partnering with a leading European transmission system operator seeking an experienced Lead Civil Works professional to oversee the civil design, tendering, and construction of a landmark offshore energy infrastructure project in the Belgian North Sea.This position is ideal for a senior civil engineer or project manager with a strong background in complex infrastructure or offshore works, capable of managing multi-disciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders through all stages of design and execution.Scope of Work:Lead and coordinate all civil works related to the construction, including foundations, drainage, cable culverts, and earthing systems.Develop and implement the European tender strategy, lead the procurement process, and negotiate with contractors and suppliers.Manage the appointed Civil Works Contractor and oversee detailed design, construction methodologies, and project interfaces.Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, acting as a safety leader within the project team.Coordinate with internal engineering, procurement, and project control teams, as well as external consultants and authorities.Provide cost, schedule, and progress reporting to ensure project transparency and timely delivery.Identify and mitigate technical, contractual, and delivery risks throughout the project lifecycle.Requirements:Degree-qualified civil engineer with 5+ years’ experience in civil or infrastructure project delivery.Proven background in construction management, ideally including offshore, marine, or remote site environments.Strong understanding of tendering and contract management in a European context.Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.Fluent in English (Dutch a plus).This is a long-term freelance or consultancy assignment initially until December 2026 however, this is likely to be extended and works will continue until 2028.If interested, please apply within or contact Harry Arnold on +44 208 057 3868 for further information.
