Job DescriptionYou’re a seasoned Cloud Engineer with deep technical expertise and a passion for helping others grow. As Lead Cloud Engineer, you’ll join one of our four SaaS platform teams and play a pivotal role in shaping our cloud strategy while mentoring engineers to reach their full potential. You will work with the Tec hnical Product Owner/Product Manager on the roadmaps and contribute to the vision.What will you do?Enable our customers’ organizations to thrive! You’ll Help Us Get There ByDriving strategic cloud initiatives and transformations.Mentoring engineers on best practices, architecture decisions, and problem-solving.Promoting collaboration across teams and ensuring technical alignment.Leading technical discussions and being the voice of innovation.Night shifts (a few per month) are shared across teams to maintain critical support. You’ll help optimize processes so we stay agile and reliable.Tech StackDo you have relevant technical experience? Then this list will give you an idea of the tools and processes you’ll work with as a cloud engineer: provisioning (Terraform), Azure networking, configuration (Puppet, Ansible), containerization (Kubernetes, Azure AKS), block- and object storage, Elasticsearch, observability (Influx, VictoriaMetrics, Nagios etc.), Python, virtual machines, and more. We use these technologies on Windows and Linux servers, MS SQL databases, firewalls and VPN servers.But, it’s not only about what we currently use. A successful candidate is expected to lead and bring our technology to the next level.Where will you work?At TOPdesks headquarters in Delft! As a lead cloud engineer, you’ll join one of our 4 SaaS platform teams, which have 32 members in total. We are social technicians with much love for what we do, and we find it essential to be open with each other, which also means giving feedback. In our team, we can say anything, and we always listen to each other.Our work is guided by agile principles, a framework you’re likely familiar with. We are constantly engaged in tasks related to maintenance, cloud evolution, efficiency and FinOps. As a team, we prioritize tasks from our backlog and deliver on them during our 2-week sprints. Regular retrospectives help us identify areas for improvement and keep us agile.We expect you and the team to be playful but responsible with technology. You know how to bring colleagues (inside and outside your team) together towards a common goal.You have a minimum of 3 years of experience with Terraform via CI/CD.You have experience with CAF and WAF.You have experience setting up (SQL) databases for scalability.Azure networking is not a mystery to you.You are proactive, take initiative, and can lead.You know how to identify dependencies early and cooperate with other engineering and non-cloud teams to support company goals.You have experience in programming, provisioning, and configurations.You enjoy the complexity of SaaS and work in a structured, step-by-step way.You believe in teamwork and clear communication as much as we do.You’re looking for a job with an international context.You don’t mind a stand-by shift (evenings or weekends) from time to time.Relevant Azure certificates and TOGAF are an advantage, but not mandatory.Additional InformationThe nicest colleagues, a laptop, and a salary that grows with you.
