Serving more than 30,000 students per year, we offer a suite of Ministry of Advanced Education-approved programs (occupational programs in massage, personal fitness trainer and funeral education; academic upgrading; and our Transitional Vocational Programming), over 60 programs and 350+ courses to support professional and personal development in a wide range of topics, and our Conservatory (which offers a broad range of music and speech arts programming). Our courses cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to business, technology and health. These courses are offered in a variety of formats on campus, online, in the workplace, and in the community.About The RoleThe Learner Engagement Advisor (LEA) serves as the primary contact for current and prospective learners in the Faculty of Continuing Education. This position is primarily responsible for supporting programming in the Conservatory and provides secondary coverage for programming in the Professional and Continuing Studies area. The LEA works collaboratively with program teams to provide learner support and resolve concerns. This role advises learners on general program information, admission and graduation requirements, Faculty and University policies, industry or career-related information, and course access and technical issues. The role regularly engages with learners, program staff, student services staff, instructors, and the broader University community. The LEA also works closely with various areas to develop learner-friendly communications and processes, and to advocate for learner needs. A high level of collaboration and participation is required in Faculty activities and meetings. When appropriate, the LEA works cross-functionally to ensure continuity and consistency across programs and processes.This is a full-time, replacement term position, working 35 hours per week, with an anticipated end date of January 11, 2027.ResponsibilitiesProvide professional and responsive advising to current and prospective learners to support attraction, retention, and satisfaction.Advise learners on program and course options, admission requirements, and academic policies and procedures.Respond promptly to inquiries (phone, email, virtual, and in person) and manage program-related email accounts.Support learners in interpreting University and Faculty policies, referring them to appropriate services as needed.Respond to learner concerns or complaints, resolving or escalating issues to program staff when appropriate.Assess applications for admission and prepare admission and registration communications as required.Monitor learner registrations and progress, initiating waitlists or follow-up as needed.Develop and maintain learner communications, including email templates, orientation materials, and promotional content.Participate in program evaluation and improvement by providing feedback and learner insights to programming teams.Collaborate with colleagues across the Faculty and University to ensure consistent, learner-focused processes and communications.Contribute to Faculty events, information sessions, and promotional activities to enhance learner engagement.Manage workload and priorities effectively within semester timelines.QualificationsA minimum of 18-24 months of relevant experience.A three- or four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with learners and staff. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and adhere to privacy and information management policies.Proven problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills with sound judgment in addressing learner concerns or complex inquiries.Experience using student information systems and/or learning management systems to track and support learner progress.Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Salary: $59,386.60 - $75,147.80 per annumClosing Date: November 17, 2025A cover letter and resume should be submitted in one .pdf document.
