We invite applications for this full-time lecturer post. The candidates must possess a good knowledge of quantitative and analytical finance for commerce, investment, and corporate finance to teach foundational modules on the extended curriculum programme.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be appointed in the Department of Finance and as part of the Extended Curriculum Programme, and will be responsible for the following key performance areas: Facilitate learning at undergraduate level in quantitative skills for finance and commerce Conduct research and publish in quantitative and analytical finance Undertake undergraduate and postgraduate supervision Provide academic leadership and administration Undertake curriculum development and assessment Participate in community engagement and outreachMinimum RequirementsMinimum Requirements: Masters qualification or equivalent in the field of finance or a related field Demonstrated extensive experience (at least 5 years) in facilitating learning in the field of quantitative skills for finance and commerce within ECPAdded Advantages Teaching qualification in higher educationKey Competencies Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Presentation and facilitation skills Adaptability and the ability to operate in a diverse environment Student focused approach Planning and organising skills Computer literacy and e-learning skills Technical professional knowledge and skills in the discipline and in the core strategic areas, namely learning and teaching, research and scholarship, community engagement as well as professional leadershipFor more information (but not applications), please contact the Departmental Chairperson, [Prof. Adefemi Obalade], on [aobalade@uwc.ac.za].In your application, you are encouraged to highlight your strengths and include anything else you deem exceptional and outstanding to be considered by the selection panel.
