Legal Compliance Officer

Role PurposeThe Legal & Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the organization complies with all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. The role provides legal advice, drafts and reviews contracts, manages disputes, and develops policies to minimize risk and ensure compliance.Key Responsibilities1.     Provide legal advice and support to management and departments.2.     Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.3.     Monitor compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.4.     Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments.5.     Investigate and resolve legal and compliance issues.6.     Ensure timely filing of statutory requirements and licenses.7.     Train staff on compliance policies and regulatory updates.8.     Liaise with regulators, external counsel, and government agencies.Performance Measurement Parameters·       Number of compliance breaches or violations.·       Timeliness of contract and legal document reviews.·       Quality of legal advice provided to management.·       Effectiveness of compliance audits and training.Required Qualifications & Skills·       Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); professional certification and call to bar required.·       2–5 years’ experience in legal practice or corporate legal/compliance role.Skills & Competencies·       Strong knowledge of corporate, labor, and contract law.·       Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills.·       High integrity, confidentiality, and ethical judgment.·       Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
