We invest in the development of our people, and we strive to be a workplace that is respectful, engaged, accountable, creative and honeAbout The RoleGreater Dandenong Libraries is one of the busiest library services in Victoria and is experiencing a period of growth and opportunity for the Library Service.An exciting opportunity is currently available for a Library Service Officer (Home Library Service) to join the Greater Dandenong Libraries team, which sits within the Creative and Engaged City department.You will work as part of a team responsible for providing effective library and information services to all library users in our diverse community. This includes facilitating inclusive and equitable access to resources for individuals unable to access the library in person.Our team works across our various library branches and conducts outreach visits to individuals in the City of Greater Dandenong.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the following:Certificate IV in Library and Information Science or equivalent, or alternatively, demonstrated customer service experience with an understanding of positive customer service principles.Experience working in a culturally and linguistically diverse environment.Well-developed Information Technology skills, including experience in troubleshooting of computer and mobile technologies and the online environment.Experience in delivering programs to adults.Knowledge and understanding of authors, books, and the importance of the library’s role in supporting literacy.Confidence in driving vans and other work vehicles, to help us safely deliver to and connect with vulnerable members of our community.The successful candidate will be asked to produce a clear Working with Children Check and will be asked to consent to a national police check.Please ensure you address the key selection criteria outlined in the position description as part of your application.You may be required to undertake practical testing, work preference profiling / psychometric testing, functional capacity assessment (physical) or aptitude testing.The successful candidate will be asked to produce a clear Working with Children Check and will be asked toconsent to a national police check (and where relevant an ‘international criminal history check’), subject to the operation of spent conviction laws.
