Job DescriptionJob Title: Logistics ManagerPedros Distribution CentreSummary of Job :A Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the groupslogistics and supply chain operations. The role involves planning and implementingefficient strategies for the movement of goods, inventory control, andcoordination of transportation and distribution.The role will focus on cost-effectiveness solutions, timely delivery, and adherence to quality and safetystandards. Develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies that align withthe organization's goals, ensuring efficient product movement anddistribution. Oversee the supply chain process, from inventory management to orderfulfilment. Implement inventory control measures, including stock tracking, demandforecasting, and cycle counts to optimize stock levels. Plan and coordinate transportation activities, including routeoptimization, carrier selection, and the negotiation of favourable shippingterms. Enforce quality control standards to maintain product quality throughoutthe supply chain and distribution processes. Monitor and manage logistics costs, including transportation, storage,and inventory expenses, while identifying cost-saving opportunities. Leverage logistics software, such as Transportation Management Systems(TMS), to optimize operations and enhance visibility. Develop contingency plans and respond to unforeseen logisticalchallenges or disruptions to minimize operational downtime. Lead, mentor, and manage logistics staff, including task delegation,performance evaluations, and skills development.Reporting To Dotted Line Reporting To DC ManagerQualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (a degree is supply chain management orlogistics is a plus) Proven experience in supply chain management.
