OverviewThe Associate Specialist, Ocean Pricing, is responsible for pricing strategy and activities for Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) cargo moving to and from the United States, Canada, and non-FMC trade lanes.The primary objective is to ensure that pricing for logistics services aligns with both tactical and long-term business strategies, including scalability, replicability, and vertical growth.ResponsibilitiesKey Result AreasSupports business development by assisting Sales Account Managers and Key Account Managers in calculating total pricing, including network-related charges, non-network charges, and ocean freight sell rates where applicable.Key Accountabilities / DutiesPrepare high-quality responses to Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from both new and existing clients. This function supports winning new business and retaining current customers through the rate proposal process.Request, gather, and consolidate global pricing from the relevant pricing teams.Manage the preparation of accurate and timely ocean freight rate quotations for customers based on input from Ocean Product Management and Local Product Management. Quotes must be delivered in standardized FMC-compliant formats to Sales Account Managers and customers.Submit approved quotations to the appropriate filing teams to upload selling rates into rate management systems.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsAssociate degree in Business or Marketing required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.At least 2 years of general business or office administration experience in a corporate environment (required).General understanding and/or experience in logistics operations or a sales office.Additional Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and databases), including the ability to create pivot tables.Proven ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders within an organization.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Ability to apply sound judgment and handle problems in standard business situations.Strong problem-solving abilities.Ability to leverage industry knowledge to develop creative and competitive pricing solutions.High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working with large data sets.Demonstrated customer service skills to establish, maintain, and strengthen client relationships.Ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and functional areas.English required; Spanish is a plus.
