The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking an individual with fiscal experience in advising on financial processes to fill the role of Business Services Consultant, assisting the Business Services Division, under the Business Advisory Services Department.

Under general direction, conducts fiscal monitoring, analysis and consultation for school districts and/or charter schools to ensure their financial solvency and compliance with federal, state and local fiscal mandates.

The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the FollowingKnowledgeConcepts, principles, methods and techniques of budget development, revenue and expenditure projection and analysis, accounting and financial reporting, and fiscal management Applicable research, evaluation, and assessment practices and guidelines Principles and techniques of cost analyses and work simplification Federal, state, and local laws and related mandates pertaining to budgeting, accounting, reporting and fiscal solvency, such as the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) Concepts and applications of automated data processing relative to business, administrative and financial management systems Computer hardware and software. A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, finance, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification, from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Experience: Four years of experience in business or financial analysis involving budgeting, financial forecasting and financial trend analysis. Additional Requirements: A valid California driver’s license and availability of private transportation or ability to provide transportation between job sites is required.
