Grade: 9Location: ImminghamContract: Full-time, permanentWe're looking for an Machine Preparation Centre Engineer to join our team in Immingham. In this role, you'll make sure machines are prepared, inspected and ready to go, all to the highest standards of safety and quality. If you're hands-on, detail-focused and enjoy working as part of a team, this could be the role for you.What you'll be doing:Carrying out pre-delivery inspections and machine preparation, including fitting attachments such as buckets, vandal guards, q-fits, radios, reverse cameras and other extrasMaking sure all checks are completed as detailed on the PDI and extras sheetHighlighting any additional work required and keeping your Supervisor updatedInstalling software updates as they're releasedAccurately completing paperwork and real-time PDA inputs to record your workLooking after your work area and maintaining a professional appearance at all timesKeeping company tooling in good condition and reporting any defectsUsing your own toolkit to complete jobs effectivelyFollowing all Health & Safety and COSHH regulationsSupporting colleagues and mentoring trainees where requiredAttending product and systems training (sometimes staying away from home) to keep your skills up to dateOccasionally working overtime when neededHelping ensure SMT GB standards around safety, quality and environmental care are always metRequirementsWhat you'll bring: A formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural or HGV mechanics (e.g. NVQ2/C&G)Experience in the preparation and repair of heavy construction plant, including hydraulics and electricsA team player with good communication skills, who is responsible, reliable and organisedProblem-solving and diagnostic skillsConfidence in safely handling and driving heavy machineryBasic IT skills (email, systems, technical literature)High standards, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindsetA full UK driving licence is desirable, and welding ability would be a bonusBenefitsWhat's in it for you?Alongside a competitive salary we off you a host of fantastic benefits!Taking Care of YouHealth Cash Plan - Claim money back on prescriptions (including HRT), glasses, dentists appointments, physio and more.
