Working arrangementsPlease note this role does offer hybrid working, our model sets out a minimum 60% onsite / 40% home working split.Overview TE Magnetics, the high-temperature superconducting (HTS) division of Tokamak Energy, transforms cutting-edge HTS innovation into products that unlock new capabilities in energy, transport, and science. This role focuses on developing magnet manufacturing technology to scale up TE's existing HTS coil technology to build magnets for spherical tokamaks.  The activities focus on process and tooling development mitigating many of the technical risks involved in large scale coil fabrication. Instructing teams of assembly technicians and working closely with key suppliers will be required.Requirements Participate in developing the processes and tooling involved in fabricating high temperature superconductor (HTS) magnetsEnsure the quality and reproducibility of (HTS) magnet fabricationParticipate in FMEA processesLiaise with key external suppliers and subcontractorsLiaise with stakeholders internal to Tokamak EnergySupport the safety analysis procedure and safety case preparation for the manufacturing processes and toolingPrepare technical reports and specificationsSupport commercialisation of the company's HTS magnet technologyGenerate and document IPRequirements and attributes we valueDegree or equivalent experience in a relevant Engineering or Physics based discipline. Demonstrated experience of having developed processes and/or tooling for precision manufacturing tasks. Willingness to work ‘hands on' in a laboratory setting. High degree of self-organisation, motivation, and commitment to working to defined timescales. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work in a mixed team of engineers, physicists, designers, and technicians designing innovative and complex devices. A broad engineering experience would be useful, as HTS and the associated cryogenic systems cover many disciplines within Tokamak Energy. BenefitsSalary dependent on skills and experience and will be discussed from the outset25 days holiday plus bank holidaysDiscretionary 3-day festive break depending on business needsEligible for discretionary performance related bonusShare options schemePension scheme Financial benefits - including; group life insurance, critical illness, health cash plan and discount scheme  Innovation and Merit bonusesInvestment in training and development to support career progressionOpportunity to work on and contribute to world class innovation Company backgroundTokamak Energy is a leading global commercial fusion energy company based near Oxford.
