About The RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Attendant to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will be primarily responsible for comprehensive janitorial cleaning, with a strong focus on waste management operations, routine building maintenance, and minor repairs. You will ensure our residential buildings remain clean, hygienic, safe, and aesthetically pleasing for all residents and team members. This position requires a proactive approach to upkeep, a commitment to safety, strong focus on customer service, and dedication to maintaining our high standards across the property and grounds.What You'll DoYou will be contributing to creating exceptional living experiences for our residents every day by taking ownership of the following key areas, with an emphasis on cleanliness and waste management:Cleaning & HousekeepingCollect and dispose of garbage, recycling, and bulk items in accordance with building procedures, ensuring all waste-handling tasks are completed safely and efficiently.Clean, sanitize, and deodorize garbage chutes, chute rooms, and chute doors to maintain hygienic and odor-free conditions.Perform detailed janitorial cleaning of the compactor room, including sweeping, mopping, disinfecting surfaces, and ensuring all waste containers are properly positioned and maintained.Monitor, manage, and operate compactors daily, including clearing jams, addressing clogs, and ensuring the equipment operates safely; report or escalate mechanical issues as needed.Coordinate and manage scheduled waste, recycling, and bulk-item pick-ups, ensuring bins are correctly placed and accessible for collection, and returned promptly afterward.Clean and maintain waste collection areas, bin storage zones, and surrounding hallways to ensure cleanliness and safety for residents and staff.Maintain cleanliness of exterior property areas, including walkways, parking lots, and grounds, with a strong focus on debris and waste removal.Maintain cleanliness and organization of mechanical rooms.Assist with suite turnovers, including cleaning and preparing units for new residents. Building Operations & MaintenanceAssist the Superintendent with routine maintenance tasks.Conduct regular building inspections and report any deficiencies to management.Monitor and maintain building systems and equipment, escalating issues as needed.Assist with snow removal, salting, and other seasonal upkeep (as needed).Help coordinate access for contractors and service providers. Maintain a positive and approachable demeanor with residents and visitors. Wear the proper uniform at all times and maintain a clean, professional appearance while on duty.
