Manager Fighter & UAW Design

Your RoleWe are looking for a manager of the newly formed Fighter and UAEW Design Section Manager to join the ERIEYE and Sensors division within Business Unit Airborne Early Warning, BU AEW. The business unit is responsible for flying radar systems such as the Global Eye.The newly formed section Fighter and UAEW Design, which is part of the Mechanical and Structural Engineering department, have three product focus design teams, with responsibility for mechanics and cabling design. Product teams are: Fighter Antenna, Fighter Backend and Unmanned Airborne Early Warning (UAEW) team. Each team is lead by a Mechanical Team Leader.The section responsibilities are:Design responsibility for Fighter and UAEW productsMechanical engineering for airborne design, for Fighter and UAEW productsBreak down customer and system requirements into achievable parts that balance different disciplines to achieve the best overall solutionTo provide technical leadership throughout the design workTo support subsystem verification to prove compliance with environmental requirementsTo perform the necessary analyses during both the design and verification phasesTo preform studies of future capabilities, develop Roadmaps and strategies for future needs To support, analyze and present actions necessary for handling repairs and production issuesTo sustain and maintain our Fighter and UAEW productsAs manager of Fighter and UAEW Design section, you will;Lead and coach a fast-growing organization of about 11 employees Develop and grow your groups’ future capabilities through competence development, recruitment, cooperation, sourcing and improved ways-of-workingDevelop co-operations with other parts of departments of Saab as well as with our external suppliersPromote creativity, new ideas, business thinking and team spiritDevelop roadmaps and strategies for the Unmanned and Fighter platforms Collaborate closely with other sections in the department for example AEW Design sectionBe an active part of the Mechanical & Structural Engineering Leadership Team in terms of strategy, budget work and roadmapsYou will also contribute to the overall development of BU AEW as well as the Surveillance design and implementation organizations. In this role you will have the opportunity to set the detailed organization and recruit team leaders and new personnel into our new teams.Cooperation with technical product management as well as external suppliers and other organizations within Saab is also part of the daily work.
