Job Description

We are seeking a Group Market Abuse Controls Officer to support the development and enhancement of the firm’s market abuse surveillance framework across all regulated entities. The role will focus on the design and implementation of new alerts, quality assurance testing and rolling out processes group-wide. This position is critical to ensuring that the firm maintains robust surveillance capabilities and meets its regulatory obligations in preventing market abuse.ResponsibilitiesFramework Design & DevelopmentDesign and configure new surveillance alerts to detect potential market abuse, including insider dealing, market manipulation, and other abusive practicesSupport the ongoing development and refinement of the group’s market abuse framework across all regulated entitiesTesting & Quality AssuranceConduct QA and validation of new and existing alerts to ensure accuracy, effectiveness, and regulatory alignment.Review and test system changes and upgrades impacting surveillance capabilitiesMaintain clear documentation of alert design, testing, and QA outcomesGroup Roll-Out & HarmonisationDrive consistent implementation of surveillance processes and standards across the groupCollaborate with local compliance teams to ensure harmonisation and adoption of group standardsShare knowledge and best practices across entities to strengthen the firm’s global compliance postureReporting & Stakeholder EngagementPrepare reports and MI on surveillance activity, QA outcomes and framework developments for senior managementLiaise with Risk, Operations, IT, and Front Office to ensure surveillance systems and processes are effective and fit for purposeSupport interactions with regulators and auditors during inspections and thematic reviewsRequirementsExperience: Minimum 3–5 years in compliance, surveillance, or market abuse within a regulated financial services firm (CFD/spread betting experience preferred)Technical Skills: Strong understanding of trade surveillance tools, alert design, testing, and calibrationRegulatory Knowledge: Good understanding of MAR (Market Abuse Regulation) and equivalent global requirementsAnalytical Skills: Ability to interpret trading data, identify suspicious patterns, and assess control effectivenessCommunication: Excellent written and verbal skills, able to prepare clear documentation and reportsStakeholder Management: Ability to work collaboratively across jurisdictions and functionsAttention to Detail: Strong QA and validation skills, with a methodical and structured approachOptional:Experience within the CFD industryExperience using Scila surveillance systemPersonal QualitiesCollaboration: Strong interpersonal skills for working with global teamsIntegrity: Commitment to high ethical standards and regulatory complianceProactive: Ability to anticipate emerging risks and propose effective solutionsProblem-Solving: Analytical and structured approach to resolving surveillance challengesResilience: Able to deliver consistently under pressure in a fast-paced environmentAdaptability: Flexible to respond to evolving regulatory and business requirementsWhat You Will Get In ReturnCompetitive Salary: We believe great work deserves great pay!
