With multiple facilities and a strong vendor network, they emphasize craftsmanship, reliability, and efficient production processes to meet demanding customer timelines.Position OverviewThe Material Coordination Lead oversees and coordinates all internal and external material movement across the organization’s facilities and vendor partners. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials, components, and finished goods to support production schedules and meet delivery commitments. The incumbent plays a key leadership role in internal logistics, team coordination, and process improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, schedule, and oversee daily activities for the Material Coordination Team across all facilitiesMaintain full visibility of material flow, adjusting priorities based on production schedules and shipping requirementsCollaborate with Production Planning, Purchasing, and Quality to ensure the timely movement of parts to and from external service providersOversee accurate documentation of transfers, shipments, and returns within the ERP system or related tracking toolsIdentify and drive continuous improvement opportunities to enhance internal logistics efficiency and accuracyConduct regular team meetings to align objectives, address bottlenecks, and ensure operational clarityTrain and mentor team members on proper handling, documentation, routing, and safety proceduresTrack and report key KPIs, including on-time delivery to departments, vendor turnaround times, and material accuracy ratesSupport cross-functional initiatives related to production scheduling, process flow, and supply chain optimizationEnsure compliance with quality standards during material handling and transfer activitiesPerform additional duties as assignedQualifications5+ years of experience in logistics, material control, or production coordination within a manufacturing environmentProven leadership or supervisory experienceStrong understanding of production flow, vendor outsourcing, and inter-facility material movementStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiencyProficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft ExcelForklift certification preferredAbility to read and interpret blueprints and part drawingsKey AttributesStrong leadership presence and clear communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and follow-throughContinuous improvement mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solvingAbility to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
