Materials Planning Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a Materials Planning Specialist to oversee the end-to-end flow of materials, ensuring timely delivery to manufacturing and warehouse partners. This role is pivotal in maintaining an efficient supply chain, optimizing planning processes, and collaborating closely with internal teams and external vendors to meet operational goals.Key Responsibilities:Materials Planning: Coordinate with supply and demand teams to maintain accurate subcomponent and commodity data, ensuring timely component delivery based on forecasts and purchase plans.Risk Management: Monitor and mitigate risks related to material shortages, supplier delays, and other potential disruptions to production schedules.Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to enable smooth communication and coordination.Process Optimization: Use data-driven insights to improve supply chain efficiency and implement best practices in materials management.Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for purchase orders, supply coverage, and inventory health to ensure alignment across planning and logistics.Inventory Control: Partner with inventory leads to manage optimal stock levels and reduce excess or shortages.Adaptability: Prioritize and adjust plans in response to evolving business needs and changing production timelines.Data Interpretation: Analyze demand, supply, and MRP reports to guide decisions on procurement and material allocation.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.Hands-on experience in procurement, materials planning, or supply chain operations, preferably within the technology or manufacturing industry.Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.Excellent communication, collaboration, and multitasking abilities.Proven capacity to adapt to fast-changing business requirements and manage multiple projects effectively.Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with computer hardware, production processes, or system configuration.Experience coordinating with global partners across multiple time zones.Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with minimal supervision.
