Job DescriptionResponsibilities:Put Safety first at all times, never compromise on safety for the obtainment of other objectives. Responsible for health and safety of themselves and coworkers. Develop composite processing concepts from proof-of-concept / prototype stage through low-rate initial production (LRIP) stage. Design and implementation of production tools/fixtures to support these composite processing concepts. Research new processing methods, materials, and/or technologies to support customer- or internally-funded R&T projects and programs. Support the design verification and validation process of new products, technologies and methods, including material and component fabrication and physical testing. Support program communication, internally and externally. Provide engineering/technical recommendations for continuous improvement of processing techniques. ShiftDayShift InformationMonday-Friday 40 hoursExperience/Education/SkillsQualifications/Characteristics At least 2 years towards a relevant engineering degree complete (Mechanical, Chemical, Textile, Composites, Aerospace)Proficient in the use of Microsoft software (MSWord, PowerPoint, Excel)Understand and interpret engineering drawings, with a basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)Experience with 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software (SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.)Hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing environmentComposite fabrication and/or tooling & fixturing experience a plusBasic understanding of materials scienceKnowledge of tooling, fixturing and composite processing equipment. Basic understanding of Lean ManufacturingLean tools such as 5S, Visual Factory, Value Stream Mapping (VSM) a plusTeam and people skills that are required to ensure efficient execution of tasksProblem solving skillsFlexible and adaptableEffective as a communicator and integratorWell organized and disciplinedAble to identify problems and willing to make decisionsAble to maintain proper balance in the use of their timeAble to set and balance prioritiesConsidered the “go to” person by their peersWorking Conditions: Indoor production environment, duties performed indoors, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts.Physical Requirements: Occasionally positions self to move an office item >10 lbs. Frequently move about the production floor and office area to attend meetings or trainingsMust be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the timeFrequently operates a computer, enters data into systems, verifies information, etc…
