We are passionate and dedicated and believe that the key to our ongoing success is our culture of teamwork and collaboration. The roleWe are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with an interest and experience in Data Analytics to join our dynamic Defence Capability team in Sydney.In these roles, you will contribute to improving Defence operational capability through the provision of engineering services to our Defence clients.Key Requirements Of The Roles IncludeWorking within a project team to deliver maritime engineering services to improve the operational effectiveness of Defence maritime capabilities.Have experience in the understanding Defence maritime systems.The ability to lead, manage and deliver Defence maritime projects.Provide sound advice and solutions about data analytics and how it relates to dynamic and complex maritime engineering issues.Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.Experience with Defence writing standards and technical documentation requirements.About YouYou will possess knowledge and experience in the maintenance of Australian Navy ships and Navy engineering practices and preferably be eligible to hold engineering delegations.You will be an engineer with a passion for data analytics and experience in applying this on to maritime related along with a commitment to successfully delivery projects and solving problems for our clients. Furthermore, you will thrive on challenges and be team-oriented with strong organisational and communication skills and the ability to apply proactive and critical thinking whilst developing your consulting career.What is important is that you will bring a tenacious attitude and have alignment with our company purpose to “Make Everyday Better” and have the ability to work independently and collaboratively as required whilst being a member of our collaborative and dynamic culture.Required CapabilitiesConsultancy experience with ability to develop strong client stakeholder relationships.Problem solving capabilities.Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.Possess relevant qualifications in engineering (electrical, mechanical) with the ability to gain appropriate industry accreditation.Experience in Data Analysis preferably in a maritime engineering environment.Proven programming experience, preferably VBA or Python.Engineering/asset data management capabilities.Due to the nature of our client and projects, it is mandatory that you hold (or will be able to obtain) a current Australian Government security clearance (AGSVA) at Baseline level or higher and be eligible to access information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).What We OfferA career with Beca will provide you with:Flexibility & Wellbeing: We recognise that achieving a work-life balance is unique to everyone.
