This is a key role for individuals who are passionate about quality and precision in a high-performance subcontract CNC environment.The RoleAs a Mechanical Quality Inspector, you will carry out a range of inspections to ensure our parts meet strict dimensional and visual standards. Reporting to the Head of Quality, you will take ownership of inspection activities on your shift and work closely with production, engineering, and management to maintain and improve quality performance.This position requires a confident, process-driven individual with the ability to interpret technical drawings, lead inspection routines, and contribute to root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesInspection ActivitiesPerform first-off, in-process, and final inspections on machined partsUse a range of tools including micrometers, verniers, height gauges, and CMMsProgram and operate CMM equipment where applicableTechnical InterpretationRead and understand complex engineering drawings and apply GD&TEnsure work complies with AS9100 Rev D and internal quality proceduresDocumentation & ReportingComplete and maintain FAIRs, PPAPs, SPC data, APQP, and control plansSupport root cause and corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why, and Ishikawa toolsRecord inspection results accurately using Microsoft Office toolsLeadership & SupportCoordinate inspection activities during your shiftWork collaboratively with quality and production teamsPromote continuous improvement in quality processes and cultureWhat You BringStrong background in a subcontract CNC machining environmentProven ability to lead and coordinate inspection processesExcellent understanding of engineering drawings and GD&TProficiency in using mechanical inspection tools and CMM equipmentSolid experience with AS9100 quality standards and documentationCalm, methodical approach with a keen eye for detailConfident communicator with good written and verbal skillsPreferred ExperienceExperience with RCCA tools (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa)Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and OutlookFamiliarity with programming CMMsEmployment BenefitsCompetitive hourly rate: (based on experience and shift)£17.00 – £26.50 per hour + Overtime + Shift PremiumsOvertime opportunities availableCompany pension scheme20 days holiday plus statutory bank holidaysEmployee Assistance Programme (EAP) – confidential support for mental health, legal, financial, and personal mattersEmployee reward card with discounts from major retailersFree tea, coffee, and on-site parkingOngoing training and developmentCareer progression in a quality-driven businessRecognition and reward schemes for high performanceIf you are an experienced Mechanical Quality Inspector with a passion for precision and continuous improvement, we want to hear from you.
