Maintenance TechnicianHigh-Performance Food Manufacturing EnvironmentWe are currently hiring for a skilled and proactive Mechanical Maintenance Technician with strong experience supporting fast-paced, highly automated production environments. Adept at keeping complex equipment running at peak performance, delivering both planned and reactive maintenance, and ensuring the smooth operation of multiple manufacturing lines. Thrives on solving technical problems, improving equipment reliability, and contributing to a dynamic engineering team on a monthly rotating day/night shift schedule (3 days one week, 4 days the next).Key ResponsibilitiesInstalling, maintaining and repaired a wide range of production machinery including filling, sealing, and packaging systems, as well as associated utilities such as steam generation, compressed air, and safety systems.Troubleshot faults using engineering drawings, manuals and schematics, carrying out repairs safely and efficiently.Performed planned and unplanned maintenance at a high standard to ensure optimum line performance and minimal downtime.Conducted mechanical work in line with all relevant regulations, safety standards and internal procedures.Completed product changeovers, lubrication routines and maintenance tasks to support fast, efficient transitions between different production lines.Collaborated closely with opposite shift teams to ensure seamless handovers and continuity of operations.Identified performance issues and worked with engineering and production management to prioritise and resolve them.Completed maintenance logs, quality checks, safety documentation and compliance records to a high and accurate standard.Provided mechanical support across multiple departments within a large manufacturing site, ensuring all equipment and utilities were kept operational.Skills & Experience2+ years’ experience as a qualified Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Technician or Fabricator within a manufacturing environment.Fully qualified with a Mechanical Automation & Maintenance Fitting (MAMF) qualification or equivalent Level 6 craft certificate.Strong interest in preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.Capable of working independently, taking ownership of tasks and delivering results with minimal supervision.Flexible to work rotating day & night shifts as part of a 12-hour shift pattern.Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG environments is highly desirable.
