The ideal candidate has solid experience working with U.S. healthcare providers, medical billing platforms, and insurance portals.This role is responsible for managing patient accounts, verifying insurance information, following up on claims, and supporting daily administrative operations to ensure smooth and accurate billing processes. You’ll work closely with U.S.-based teams, so strong English skills and attention to detail are essential.Key ResponsibilitiesManage patient account balances, reconcile outstanding claims, and follow up on denied or delayed payments.Verify insurance eligibility and benefits using major U.S. insurance portals.Prepare and submit appeals and supporting documentation when required.Coordinate with clinical, billing, and administrative teams to optimize workflows.Ensure all work complies with HIPAA regulations and internal policies.Communicate in English with insurance representatives, patients, and providers.Work daily with multiple EHR and billing systems to process claims and maintain accurate records.Provide general administrative support as needed.Required Skills & Experience1–2+ years of experience in U.S. medical billing and/or administrative support.Proficiency with systems such as Athenahealth, AdvancedMD, Charm EHR, Availity, and ACW.Experience with U.S. insurance portals including UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, among othersFamiliarity with spine surgery, telehealth, and physical therapy billing processes is a plus.Advanced English level (written and spoken) is required.Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Must be able to work on-site in Medellín (this is not a remote role).We OfferCompetitive salary based on experience.
