Medical Doctor - Part Time

Clinical ResponsibilitiesKey skill requirements / CompetenciesTo provide quality medical care under the supervision and direction of Consultants Contribute to quality patient care by participation in case planning which includes appropriate pre-admission planning, in-hospital care and discharge planningTo attend ward rounds and conduct day to day review of patients To ensure comprehensive, accurate and concise medical records are maintained for patients with an appropriate signed and dated legible entry in the patient's medical record on every attendance upon a patient. Follow the instructions of consultants for their specific regime for each individual patient. To arrange investigations, surgical treatment, medical treatment and discharge as directed by the Consultant to which assignedInform admitting consultants of changes in medical condition of patients and of relevant action taken.Perform clinical procedures as requested by consultant medical staff and nursing staff, these may include giving of intravenous drugs to patients.To provide assistance with surgical procedures and outpatient clinics as directed by the Consultant to which assignedTo be completely familiar with emergency equipment and proceduresTo ensure that discharge summaries and other correspondence are completed with minimum delay and that all such correspondence is complete prior to leaving the unitMaintain good communications with all areas and disciplines within the health service and with local medical facilities to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the hospitalParticipate in clinical audit and quality programs as appropriateServes as the health physician for coworkers who require first aid for work related injuries or who may become ill while on duty and require on site medical attentionTo be "on-call" or participate in shift rosters NOTE: This role is part time for a duration of three (03) months with posibility of extension depending on the needs of the Hospital.
