M&A Manager | 6-Month Contract (Privately Owned Business)Location: Melbourne, VICContract: 6 Months | Immediate Start | Competitive Daily RateAbout the BusinessOur client is a successful, privately owned business based in Melbourne and embarking on a significant corporate transaction. With a strong track record of growth and operational excellence, the company is now seeking an experienced M&A professional to help lead and coordinate a complex end-to-end deal process alongside external advisers and internal stakeholders.The OpportunityThis 6-month engagement offers a hands-on role in managing the execution phase of a major transaction. Working directly with senior leadership and key advisers, you will bring structure, rigour and momentum to the deal process from due diligence through to completion.You will be responsible for ensuring project milestones are achieved, risks are managed and information flows seamlessly between internal teams, corporate advisers, legal counsel and financiers.Key ResponsibilitiesProject manage all aspects of the transaction process including timelines, workstreams and deliverables.Coordinate inputs across finance, legal, tax and operational teams to support due diligence and transaction readiness.Liaise with external advisers including investment bankers, legal counsel and accounting firms.Drive the development of key materials such as data rooms, board papers, transaction documents and financial models.Identify issues and risks early, propose practical solutions and ensure alignment among stakeholders.Support the executive team through negotiation, closing and post-deal transition activities.About YouYou are an experienced corporate finance or M&A professional with 7–10 years of experience across advisory (investment banking, corporate finance or transaction services) and portfolio or corporate environments. You have worked on multiple transactions from start to finish, bringing both strategic and executional expertise to the table.You will bring:Strong end-to-end deal management capability (buy-side or sell-side).Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.Commercial acumen and the ability to distil complex issues quickly.Experience coordinating external advisers and cross-functional teams.A proactive, outcome-driven approach suited to fast-moving private environments.Why JoinThis is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in a high-impact transaction, working closely with decision-makers in a dynamic private business.
