What You Will Be Doing In This RoleReporting to the Director of Specialties, this Nurse Educator role will lead the development and delivery of innovative education programs that support excellence in midwifery practice across the organisation.In this role, you will provide expert guidance in evidence-based midwifery education, ensuring all initiatives are aligned with accreditation standards, best practice guidelines, and the organisation’s strategic priorities. Your work will be central to strengthening clinical capability through impactful education.You will be responsible for designing and evaluating education programs for undergraduate and postgraduate midwifery students, supporting the Return to Midwifery program to boost workforce retention and capability, and developing tailored learning pathways for internal staff across birthing, antenatal, postnatal, and special care nursery settings.You will support clinicians in maintaining core maternity competencies, including emergency response skills, working closely with nursing, medical, allied health, and quality teams to support integrated, safe care. Drawing on data, learner feedback, and clinical insights, you will continuously evaluate and refine education strategies to ensure our workforce is well-prepared, competent, and future ready.This is a permanent, part-time role for 30 hours per week.Who We’re Looking ForTo succeed in this role, you’ll bring expert knowledge of maternity and midwifery practice across the continuum of care. You’ll have extensive experience as a Registered Nurse, coupled with experience in an educator or in a senior clinical education role.Key Requirements For This Position IncludeCurrent AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (essential) A Master's in Midwifery or equivalent (desirable) Graduate Certificate in Education (desirable) In-depth knowledge of NSQHS Standards relevant to maternity services Strong communication, facilitation, and clinical supervision skills Proven experience in an educator role or senior clinical education capacity A track record of supporting students and staff through structured learning programs Experience in collaborating with teams to implement effective education strategies Expertise in adult learning principles and designing impactful learning programs About UsAdventist HealthCare owns and operates San Day Surgery, Hornsby, and the Sydney Adventist Hospital (fondly known as the San).
