The site accountant will be responsible to manage the financial function on site through the implementation of financial controls, recording and reporting to ensure controls are maintained in all finance related functions/procedures relating to business on site in area of responsibility to mitigate risks.Key ResponsibilitiesDetermine and implement cost accounting procedures and methods to accurately account for costing of productsEnsure controls are implemented and operating effectively to mitigate the risk of fraud and material misstatements.Ensure accurate financial reporting on site performanceFull understanding of the value chainCo-ordinate and participate in monthly stock take for Durban Wheat Mill.Ensure that accurate inventory counts are captured on the financial systemEnsure intercompany loan accounts balance monthlyPrepare and capture the month-end journals and ensure that month-end closure deadline is metPrepare balance sheet reconciliationsMonthly reporting on expenses and inefficiencies in the value chainAnnual budget preparationCo-ordinate and participate in annual asset verificationEnsure adherence to Import stock requirement and document retentionReview and control customer PODs for validity, customer claims & customer paymentsReview and authorize creditors for paymentReview and authorize wages hours and overtime calculationsReview and authorize salary overtime calculationsEnsure accurate accounting of manufactured productsEvaluates proposed capital projects and complete capex requestProvide support to the Site Manager on ad hoc requests and feasibility studyTrack the financial savings of Continuous Improvement ProjectsQualification RequirementsBCom Accounting Hons.SAIPA/CIMA would be an advantageExperience RequirementsAuditing experience 2-3 DesirableFMCG at operational level 2-3 yearsManagerial experience 2-3 yearsKey OutputsExcel (pivot tables and formulas)ERP system e.g. Microsoft Great plains or equivalentPeople management skillsAnalytical thinking skillsTime management skillsProject management skillsCommunication skills
