Mining Engineer

HERACLES Group, Greece’s leading company in the field of building materials and a member of Holcim, is seeking to cover the position of Mining Engineer to join LAVA, one of the fastest growing and most dynamic companies in the industrial minerals production sector. The Mining Engineer will be based at the mine site in Gyali (with his/her residency either on site or on the neighboring islands of Kos/Nisyros).Role & Key AccountabilitiesSupports in planning and preparing mining operations.Maintains records of daily maintenance and first-level inspections for mobile and fixed equipment.Monitors quarry activities to ensure safety and legal compliance.Assists with communication and coordination with authorities and stakeholders.Participates and actively contributes to review quarry reserves and evaluate raw materials.Supports the Sustainable Development department in monitoring and evaluating the performance of the Environmental Management System.Guarantees compliance with the environmental conditions as defined in the operating permit of the units under his/her responsibility (water & waste management, etc.).Qualifications & SkillsDegree in Mining Engineering / Mineral Resources Engineering2-5 years’ experience in an industrial/quarry environment (preferred but not mandatory)Excellent command of the English languageProactive and self-driven attitudeResults-oriented, committed to Health & Safety issuesTeam spirit and effective communicationThe company offers:A unique opportunity to work for a leading company in the cement industry.Continuous training and growth opportunities.Accommodation and meal expenses at the Company's premises are covered, as well as travel expenses to and from the place of residence.
