Department36954 Navicent Health Medical Center - Monitor TechnologistsStatusFull timeBenefits EligibleYesHours Per Week36Schedule Details/Additional Information36 hours/week - 7A - 7PPay Range$16.80 - $25.20Major ResponsibilitiesEnsures continuous telemetry monitoring is established and documentation is maintained.Ensures monitoring equipment is functioning correctly.Ensures dysrhythmias or rhythm changes are communicated timely.Maintains knowledge and skills related to dysrhythmia monitoring.Participates in quality improvement projects.Supports provision of age/developmental appropriate care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines for the age groups served.Promotes efficient use of fiscal resources.Minimum Job RequirementsHigh school education or equivalent or GEDMust complete the Navicent Health EKG equipment operation and monitoring, cardiovascular telemetry equipment operation and monitoring, and basic cardiac rhythm training and examination within six (6) weeks of selection or hire. Experienced monitor techs may take the examination immediately and exempt the additional training if successful passing grade is achieved. Thereafter, must validate competency in these areas annually.OR current AHN employee will have one year of excellent AHN work history.Proof of current Basic Life Support completion through AHA or ARC (Pediatrics and Adults) or obtain within first 6 months of hire. Thereafter, must renew biennially.Technical certificate in electrocardiographic technology or equivalent in other healthcare training (e.g., cardiovascular technology, nursing, echocardiography, or medical assistant) from an institution accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges or equivalent accreditation commission preferred.Other Job Requirements, Licenses, CertificationsMust be able to work with ALL population age groups from infant to adult and remain calm under emergency situations. This position involves performing procedures or other job-related tasks that has an inherent potential of contact with blood, body fluids or other infectious materials. Must be able to utilize appropriate universal and specific precautions for protection from potential exposure to infectious or communicable diseases. Tolerate High noise, busy atmospheres, and noxious odors. Computer literacy is required.Physical Requirements And Working ConditionsWork requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stretching, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak and understand English in good understandable terms. Must have manual and finger dexterity. A standard procedure for rhythm observation and documentation is utilized, which contributes to positive patient outcomes for cardiac monitored patients. May assist in the training, orientation and guidance of other personnel relating to telemetry. Also, may be responsible for performing 12-lead EKGs, Events, Holters, and Mobile Cardiac Telemetry (MCTs) and associated responsibilities.
