Role DescriptionMorgan Stanley Research is seeking an experienced, deep thinking quantitative primary researcher to join its AlphaWise team. AlphaWise is a global, entrepreneurial team that works alongside Morgan Stanley’s world class equity research analysts to generate evidence-based research spanning every industry sector around the world.
AlphaWise focuses on the collection and analysis of proprietary primary research to uncover insights, partners with research analysts to create compelling, differentiated opinions on stocks, sectors and investment debates to share with Research’s clients. ResponsibilitiesAs a quantitative primary researcher within AlphaWise you will conduct market research surveys for research analysts to address investment debates in their sectors and develop initial ideas into coherent insights:
Carry out custom primary online research studies with implementing the study from beginning (questionnaire development and review) to end (analysis in excel, word, ppt formats)Work closely with AlphaWise team members in preparation of survey questionnairesLiaise with vendor(s) throughout the duration of the projects (survey program testing, monitor data collection, etc. )Undertake questionnaire programming (using Qualtrics software) and check the programming scriptsHandle survey distribution to respondents, monitoring data collection progress, and check the quality of field dataData cleaning, tabulation, and analysis.
Preparation of Excel, Word, PowerPoint deliverables as per specificationsQualifications & AbilitiesBachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably in Market Research, Marketing, Statistics, Economics, Business or a related field2+ years of professional experience in conducting quantitative primary research across industries, geographies (America, Europe, Asia) and business models (B2B, B2C)Hands on with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint along with SPSS and/or Q softwareExperience in programming surveys on DIY platforms, example QualtricsInsatiable curiosity and self-starter mentality, able to work both independently and as part of a teamStrong client servicing and communication skillsProven ability to integrate and synthesize research information from multiple sources, delivering value-added insights and recommendationsProven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlinesMorgan Stanley is an equal opportunities employer.
