We are currently seeking a Automation Engineer to join our Cable Backplane Systems engineering team. The position will be located in Valley Green, PA.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with NPI engineering teams to integrate automation into new product builds.Review product designs to identify automation opportunities and constraints.Provide input on fixture design, part orientation, and material handling for automation compatibility.Participate in design reviews to ensure manufacturability and scalability of automation solutions.Support installation, commissioning, and validation of automation systems at international sites.Train global teams on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.Assist in scaling automation solutions from pilot to full production globally.Support upgrades and retrofits of automation systems to improve performance and reliability.Qualifications2+ years of experience as an Engineer in a manufacturing environment with a bachelors or associate degree in a technical field or 5+ years of experienceProficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi).Experience with robotics systems (e.g., FANUC, ABB, UR) and robotic integration.Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols.Strong understanding of mechanical systems, pneumatics, sensors, and actuators.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and control diagrams.Experience with vision systems, barcode readers, and part inspection tools is a plus.Willing to travel globally and spend a significant amount of time in executing automation deployment; significant travel requirement (50%+)Amphenol Corporation is proud of our reputation as an excellent employer.
