As the title implies, the “swing” role is rooted in the ability to be flexible, grown through a diverse and generalist skillset, and is further fortified with a fierce appetite for continuous learning. Leaning on a positive approach to troubleshooting problems with creative solutions, this position is almost always hands-on, with a strong level of technical expertise, and a robust commitment to quality on par in importance to teamwork and the strong ability to self-start. Most importantly, this position involves having fun while performing meaningful work that directly and positively contributes to the success of the integration team and the organization.Amongst the Integration Swing Techs, the Tools related management is a further specialty requiring an administrative leaning focus.In addition to the flexible tasks of the swing tech, this role will help set up and administer a stock of tools and equipment which are checked out to jobs and individuals. A strong focus of organization, office skills and a familiarity with specialized tools is required.Key Responsibilities & ExpectationsMaintain a clean and organized workshop environment in various Integration spacesAssist in the installation and setup of equipment, machinery, and TAIT productsFocus on infrastructure and building preparations to help facilitate project needsHang chain motors and rigging equipment to support aforementioned project infrastructureAdvance preparations and improvements related to shop flow and storageStock and supply all amounts of safety equipment and signage in support of projectsMaintain detailed inspection records of Integration equipment, along with performing routine maintenanceContribute to the unloading & loading of trucks and material transfer between TAIT and local buildingsSet up and prepare all electrical requirements in advance of a projectSupport the decommissioning and removal of outdated rigging and safety gearReceive and sort Integration equipment/gear that returns from onsite jobsEffectively manages workload, prioritizes tasks, and meets deadlinesWillingness to work both independently and as part of a teamPosition RequirementsMinimum 2 years of experience as a theatrical/entertainment technician ORMinimum 2 years of experience in a role related to technical fabricationMinimum high school diploma or GED, but technical degree or vocational training a plusProven experience with fabrication tools and techniques related to assembly and modification of partsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalProficiency in basic computer skills and softwareStrong commitment to safety protocols and the ability to work in a safe manner in a fast-paced environmentRelevant technical certifications encouraged, including mobile elevated work platforms, lift trucks, OSHA, rigging, etc.Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidaysExpected travel: NONECompetenciesQuality and excellence in workmanshipConfidence and humilityTechnological curiosityFlexibility“How can I help?” teamwork mentalityWorking Conditions & Physical EffortRequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
