We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist & Office Manager to serve as a strategic partner to leadership while overseeing all aspects of human resources and critical office management functions for our growing firm of approximately 115 attorneys and professional staff.This is a unique, multifaceted role ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys both strategic planning and hands-on execution. You'll be a trusted advisor to leadership and employees alike—driving HR initiatives that attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across our offices.What You'll DoHuman Resources LeadershipTalent Acquisition: Lead full-cycle recruiting for attorneys, paralegals, and professional staff; partner with section leaders on position requirements and compensation strategy; manage job postings, interviews, and offersOnboarding & Integration: Oversee comprehensive onboarding programs and coordinate smooth offboarding with exit interviews to drive retention insightsBenefits & 401(k) Administration: Serve as primary contact for all employee benefits programs; coordinate open enrollment; oversee 401(k) compliance and administrationEmployee Relations & Compliance: Provide guidance on performance, policies, and employee matters; maintain compliance with employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO); keep employee handbook currentPerformance Management: Support annual review and compensation processes; develop training initiatives and mentorship programsHR Operations: Maintain HRIS and personnel files; track key HR metrics; manage HR budget and vendor relationshipsOffice Management & Firm AdministrationExecutive Support: Serve in an advisory role to the Management TeamFacilities Management: Oversee office supplies, building management relationships, repair coordination, parking assignments, sublease administration, records management, and vendor contracts (copiers, storage, shredding, Westlaw)Staff Leadership: Direct legal assistants, paralegals, front desk coverage, and summer internsRisk Management: Administer firm insurance policies, including workers' compensation, professional liability, and building insuranceStrategic Initiatives: Facilitate firm-wide programs and culture initiatives; coordinate firm events including monthly luncheons, happy hours, and annual celebrationsFinancial Analysis: Analyze attorney compensation for reviews, bonuses, and profitability assessmentsWhat You BringEducation: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required or relevant experience Experience: Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment; experience operating independently, managing all HR functions, or leading a small teamExpertise: Strong knowledge of employment laws, benefits administration, recruiting practices, and office managementSkills: Exceptional communication, including very prompt responses to emails and related matters, discretion, and interpersonal abilities; proven ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholdersCertifications: PHR or SHRM-CP preferred; SPHR or SHRM-SCP a plusCompensation & GrowthSalary Range: $110,000–$145,000 (based on experience)Bonus: Annual discretionary bonus tied to firm and individual performance
