Libraries (Young People)Remuneration: Annual salary commencing at $79,699, plus up to 13% superannuationClosing Date: Sunday 16th November 2025 at 11.00pm AESTNo late applications will be accepted.  Only applications received via Council's online application system will be considered. Unsolicited applications from agencies will not be considered. Role OverviewThis position is responsible for supporting the provision of dynamic and inclusive library services, programs and collections that are responsive to the needs of children (birth through to age 12), young adults and their families.  This role promotes literacy, education, and lifelong learning through engaging programs, reader’s advisory, and community outreach.Essential Knowledge & Skills: Diploma in Library and Information Services or similar qualification or professional experience.Highly developed customer service skills and the ability to liaise with all people in an informative and positive manner.Presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to develop and deliver library programs for children, young people and their families, including knowledge of the State Library of Queensland’s First 5 Forever program.Demonstrated experience in a Library environment, including the use of current library and digital technologies, social media and the ability to keep up with rapid technological changes in the provision of services for young people.Excellent verbal and written communication skills for assisting with customer enquiries.Well-developed interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.Well-developed time management skills.Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence or above that is current and maintained.Working with Children Check -
