Job Description

Our client, a leading dry bulk commodities trading firm, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Trade Operations Executive to oversee the full execution cycle of coal trades across the Asia-Pacific region.The ideal candidate will bring solid expertise in dry bulk operations, strong familiarity with coal logistics and documentation, and the ability to work seamlessly with chartering, finance, traders, suppliers, and customers to ensure efficient, timely, and compliant trade execution.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the end-to-end physical execution of coal trades, from contract confirmation through to final delivery.Manage shipping operations for both spot and term contracts, including vessel nomination, laytime calculation, demurrage/dispatch handling, and issuance of voyage instructions.Prepare, verify, and manage all relevant shipping and trade documentation such as bills of lading, certificates of origin, weight and quality certificates, and commercial invoices.Handle Letters of Credit (LCs), shipping guarantees, and other trade finance documents in coordination with banks and counterparties.Work closely with chartering, trading, logistics teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely cargo readiness, smooth vessel scheduling, and efficient port operations.Monitor shipment progress, transshipment activities, and discharge operations to reduce demurrage exposure and operational risks.Liaise with surveyors, terminals, inspection agencies, and port authorities to ensure compliance with coal quality, safety regulations, and operational standards.Maintain accurate and updated voyage data and trade records within internal systems (IMOS, CTRM, ERP, or equivalent platforms).RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business, or a relevant discipline.5–8 years of experience in dry bulk or coal trade operations, ideally within a trading or ship-owning environment.Strong understanding of charter parties, Incoterms, Letters of Credit, and key shipping documentation.Hands-on experience in coal logistics and vessel operations (handysize through capesize preferred).Excellent communication, coordination, and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders across multiple time zones.Shubhi Dugar (R21100680)EA License Number: 23S1921
