Role SummaryWe are seeking a highly organised, proactive Operations Executive to ensure smooth operational processes and support impactful advocacy initiatives. In this role, you will help shape a more sustainable future through operational excellence and effective stakeholder engagement. This is a mission-driven role offering you the chance to drive positive change within ProVeg Malaysia and the broader food system.Job DetailsReports to: Country Director, ProVeg MalaysiaLocation: Greater Kuala Lumpur region / Hybrid remoteHours: Full-time (40h/week)Employment type: freelance contractorContract duration: 1 year (with possibility for extension)Salary: RM 3500- 4500 per month depending on experience (pro rata'd to working hours)ResponsibilitiesOperational and Administrative Support (70%)Serve as a key communication link between stakeholders, partners, and internal team members.Draft, edit, and distribute internal memos, newsletters, and external press releases.Compile and maintain program activity and operational reports.Support OKR (Objectives and Key Results) tracking and summarise performance data.Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and generate financial reports.Policy Advocacy and Institutional Engagement (30%)Assist in advancing plant-based dietary policies and sustainable food initiatives.Support the development of partnerships with institutions, encouraging plant-based meal adoption.Assist in organising campaigns, events, and workshops to promote sustainable eatingQualificationsRequired:At least 1-2 years of professional experience in a relevant role (business administration, business operations, Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, business administration, communications, or a related field.Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.Experience with performance tracking, reporting, and budgeting tools.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Proficient written skills in Malay.Passion for plant-based advocacy and sustainability.Ability to thrive in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.Preferred:Prior experience in advocacy, NGOs, SDGs, ESG or food sustainability initiatives.Familiarity with OKR frameworks and financial monitoring systems.Benefits of working with usImpact: Your work will directly contribute to shifting Malaysia’s food system towards a more sustainable future.Growth: We support professional development and encourage internal career progression.Flexibility: Hybrid remote working options (mainly working remote, monthly in-person meetings required) and a results-driven environment.Community: Join a passionate, supportive team working toward a more sustainable, compassionate world.When?Application deadline: open until filledStart date: as soon as possibleFurther informationOur Application ProcedureYour application should include a cover letter addressing your motivation and how you meet the person specification criteria and a CV.
