Role SummaryThe Operations Leader plays a key role on our leadership team — bridging strategy and execution. This person leads the daily performance of our dispatch, drivers, customer service, maintenance, health & safety, and supports office administration and customer service functions. They ensure our people and systems work together efficiently, safely, and with the level of care our customers have come to expect from Hersey Bins.This role is about leading with clarity, driving results, and building a team that delivers excellence with pride and purpose every day.Your MissionTo lead our operations toward greater productivity and efficiency, while maintaining a culture of safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction — ensuring both our people and our customers receive the best possible experience.Core AccountabilitiesLeadership & OperationsLead, coach, and hold accountable the Dispatcher and all operational staff under them.Oversee daily dispatch performance, driver productivity, equipment utilization, and service delivery.Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure trucks and bins are kept in safe, working condition.Support team development through mentoring, feedback, and positive accountability.Build and reinforce systems and processes that make the business run smoother every quarter.Customer ExperienceAnswer customer questions and take orders over the phone and by email.Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction, resolve any service issues, and send out feedback surveys.Work closely with the team to ensure service accuracy, responsiveness, and professionalism in every interaction.Health, Safety & ComplianceLead the company’s Health and Safety program, including implementing new initiatives, updating policies, and completing monthly site inspections.Ensure all operations and field activities meet compliance standards and safety protocols.Administrative & Team SupportAssist with employee onboarding, benefits enrollment, and tracking vacation requests.Support general office administration to maintain organization, accuracy, and consistency across departments.Manage company insurance policies, maintain accurate documentation, and liaise with the insurance broker regarding renewals, claims, and coverage updates.Help plan company and community events, as well as special projects that promote team culture and community engagement.Perform additional administrative tasks assigned by management.What Winning Looks LikeDispatch runs efficiently, and drivers know exactly what success looks like each day.Customer orders are handled quickly, accurately, and with care.Health and safety standards are consistently upheld and continuously improved.Insurance coverage and documentation are up to date, and broker relationships are well managed.The office runs smoothly — organized, accurate, and proactive in supporting the team.The Operations Leader is a steady presence — proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented — leading with integrity and enthusiasm every day.The Right FitYou’re a natural leader who thrives in a dynamic office environment.
