Job DetailsDescriptionPosition: PainterDuties And ResponsibilitiesApply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, or other finishes to equipment, buildings, or other structures using brushes, spray guns, or rollersFill cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers using caulk guns or putty knivesMinor drywall repairWash and treat surfaces with oil, turpentine, mildew remover, or other solutions and sand rough spots to ensure that finishes will adhere properlyRemove fixtures such as pictures, door knobs, lamps, or electric switch covers prior to paintingCover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect during paintingMix and match colors of paint, stain, varnish with oil or thinning and drying additives to obtain desired colors and consistenciesStrip wood and metalHang wall coveringRepair vinylRead work orders or receive instructions from supervisor to determine work requirementsMaintain grounds/parking lotOther duties related to classificationResponsible ToMaintenance DirectorQualificationsHigh school graduate or graduate of a technical school.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals. Knowledge of local codes and ordinances. Knowledge of safety regulations.Ability to plan and carry out programs in repair or new construction and/or installation. Ability to direct others.Knowledge of record keeping and cost estimating.Knowledge of supplies and equipment used by department and the care of this equipment.Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with patients.Physical DemandsAble to stand, walk inside and outside in all weather.Able to stoop, kneel, bend, and climb depending on job.Able to work in awkward positions.Able to do heavy lifting and moving.
