We’re looking for a hands-on People Operations Generalist who will partner across the business to deliver reliable HR operations, excellent employee experiences, and a data-driven approach to people programs. Role summaryAs our People Operations Generalist you’ll be a trusted partner to employees and leaders, executing core HR programs (recruiting support, onboarding/offboarding, HRIS, benefits coordination, employee relations), maintaining compliance with Ontario employment requirements, and continuously improving HR processes. You’ll balance day-to-day operational excellence with projects that scale — from policy updates to HR reporting and internal processes. This position will report to the Director of People Operations. About the RoleAssist in day-to-day HR operations for employees: onboarding, offboarding, documentation, HRIS updates and data integrity.Support full-cycle recruiting for select roles: post jobs, screen candidates, schedule interviews, coordinate offers and help manage the candidate experience.Manage onboarding programs and new-hire orientation to ensure consistency and a great first 90 days.Coordinate benefits administration and liaise with providers/third-party vendors to resolve issues and ensure accurate, timely payments and enrollments.Ensure HR compliance with federal and Ontario laws and regulations (ESA, Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA, Federal employment requirements when applicable) and support policy updates.Act as a first responder for employee relations and HR inquiries — provide coaching, investigations, documentation and escalation to senior People leaders as appropriate.Maintain and optimize HR systems (HRIS/ATS) and ensure accurate people data and reporting.Produce HR metrics and dashboards to inform leadership (turnover, hiring pipeline, headcount, absence trends, etc.).Lead small projects that improve People processes (e.g., automation of manual tasks, process playbooks, improved reporting) using AI tools to streamline work and generate insights where appropriate.Support learning & development and employee engagement initiatives as needed (employee engagement events, recognition programs).Requirements3+ years of hands-on People Operations / HR experience (startups or fast-growing companies strongly preferred).Solid experience with Canadian payroll and benefits practices and vendors.Track record managing HRIS and ATS platforms (e.g., Greenhouse, Lattice, Deel — or similar).Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment requirements and employment-related compliance.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to confidentiality and documentation.Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on tight timelines.Comfortable partnering with cross-functional stakeholders from people leaders to individual contributors.Data-driven mindset — comfortable producing HR metrics and using them to inform decisions.Demonstrated curiosity about and ability to use AI and automation tools to improve People Operations processes and productivity.
