Blacktown and Mount Druitt HospitalsPermanent up to 1.0 FTE Staff Specialistor Visiting Medical Officer (until 30 June 2027)Department of Obstetrics and GynaecologyCLICK HERE TO APPLYApplications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position(s) in the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). This position will be located at Blacktown Hospital.Successful applicants will have knowledge and expertise in the management of high risk and complex pregnancies, above the level of the Generalist O&G specialist. Have obstetric ultrasound skills above the level of Generalist O&G specialist. Have demonstrated commitment to provision high quality pregnancy care for women with a background of disadvantage and deprivation.Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within three months, may be considered. If successful, the applicant may not be subsequently eligible to commence their appointment until after the relevant qualifications and requirements are formally completed.Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Staff Specialists (State) Award and Health Services Act 1997 and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014.Selection CriteriaQualificationsPlease outline how you satisfy the selection criteria listed below. In addressing the selection criteria, include any relevant skills, knowledge, qualifications and experience: Qualifications and credentials required for core scope of practice in the specialty. Evidence of additional qualifications, skills and/or experience required for specific scope of practice for the specialty. Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including: Proven ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues. Excellent organisational, supervision and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to build respectful relationships. Maintaining and developing knowledge, skills and professional performance to the level required for contemporary practice. Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and translation of research into practice to improve patient safety and quality. Demonstrated ability to manage time and resources efficiently and contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of the health care system. Demonstrated aptitude for clinical leadership which is evidenced by: Systems thinking and risk-taking aptitude. Commitment to self -care and personal development. Capacity to maintain personal integrity, tolerate stress and demonstrate resilience. Commitment to building relationships, leading, and developing others. Results and outcome focused.
