As an On-Product Performance Engineer, you will help improve on-product overlay by developing and integrating wafer-fab applications that optimize layer-to-layer alignment on product wafers—directly contributing to customer yield, device performance, and profitability.Job SummaryWe are looking for engineers who can specify, design, develop, integrate, and test (sub)modules and application tooling in close collaboration with cross-functional teams. In this role, you will help deliver competitive, robust, and serviceable products that meet system requirements, cost targets, and project timelines. Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, simple insights for others will be essential.Key ResponsibilitiesLead complex technical design activities and take ownership of modules requiring collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines.Develop, prototype, and document high-level and detailed designs, ensuring alignment with system architecture and interface requirements.Design, simulate, and validate algorithms — with Matlab proficiency as a must.Perform advanced data analysis on customer datasets to identify performance trends, wafer alignment behavior, and on-product overlay improvements.Provide clear, validated product-improvement proposals for implementation by software engineers.Collaborate closely with specialists working on wafer alignment, overlay, and other lithography-critical performance areas.Integrate sub-systems, manage configurations, and support the execution of project milestones.Deliver parts of product solutions independently with a high level of ownership.Ensure product quality through thorough testing, validation, and statistical analysis.Support project planning, effort estimation, and risk management activities.Document designs and communicate technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Stay updated on relevant technologies and actively share knowledge within the team.Work effectively with colleagues from different backgrounds and disciplines—including Java developers, where basic coding understanding is required (Java/JavaScript is a plus, but not a strict requirement).Education and ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you bring:A Master’s degree or PhD in Physics, Mathematics, or Engineering (Mechanical, Optical, Electrical, Chemical), with strong foundations in statistics, data analysis, optics, semiconductor process technology, or semiconductor device physics.2-7 years of experience in industrial research, development, or process control environments.Preferably, experience in overlay, wafer alignment, or related areas within the semiconductor industry.Proven ability to work on high-tech products involving complex processes.Strong analytical and algorithmic skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
