Now entering its 130th season, the internationally acclaimed Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) engages audiences of all ages through unparalleled live musical experiences, community collaborations, and educational programming that enrich every life with great music. Job Purpose: The Development Coordinator provides essential administrative assistance to the Development department with a focus on Individuals and Events teams gift entry and acknowledgement letters. The Coordinator will function as ancillary support to the department, often collaborating with the Manager of Development Operations, Manager of Individual Support, and Manager of Events. This position will also serve as a Tessitura super-user for the entire Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with processing the daily mail depositPerforms timely Tessitura data entry for Individual gifts to the Annual Fund, Endowment, Events, and special campaignsAssists with posting and validation of daily deposits with FinanceManages process for receivable billings and following up on declined/expired credit cardsManages generation of timely acknowledgement letters for Individuals and Events giftsManages operational support for the bi-annual telefunding campaign, with the Manager of Individual SupportAssist with regular management of donor records including but not limited to updating contact information, bios, obituaries, plan steps, etcSupport the tracking and implementation of Individual donor benefits in tandem with Manager of Individual Support and Major Gifts teamProvides exceptional customer service, co-managing communications from donors in the development email inbox and phone lineCo-manages online donation system, creating and maintaining donation forms for individual donations and event reservationsAssists with building and pulling lists from Tessitura for solicitationsAssists with building campaign and appeal structure in TessituraRequired Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experienceExceptional computer skills: proficiency in excel, word, and using mail merge; familiarity with database managementExcellent editorial, written, and verbal communication capabilities, including clear and concise writing skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently but also as a member of a teamAbility to meet deadlines and perform well under pressureAbility and willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and/or weekends when necessaryPreferred Education and Experience: 1-2 years of experience working in an office settingPrevious work in a nonprofit settingFamiliarity with Tessitura database softwarePhysical Requirements:
Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of timeAbility to operate related equipment, i. e. computer, copier, scannerCompensation and Location: This is a full-time position with an annual salary range between $40,000 - $44,000 depending upon experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes paid holidays, paid time off, employer paid health benefits, as well as retirement savings options with an employer match. Heinz Hall in downtown Pittsburgh is the work location for this position.
The PSO supports a flexible, hybrid work environment, which currently includes three days per week in-person work, including work on weekends and evenings during PSO and Heinz Hall concerts or events.
