We help a wide range of asset owners including pensions, insurers and endowments to achieve their investment objectives.We are currently searching for a Portfolio Manager based in Tokyo, reporting into the Head of Multi-Asset, Asia. The successful candidate will play a central role designing and managing multi-asset and total portfolio solutions on behalf of a wide range of asset owners including but not limited to defined benefit pensions and endowments in Japan, while contributing to team outcomes across Asia more broadly.We Will Count On You ToDesign multi-asset and other investment solutions to meet client objectives. Perform strategic asset allocation and risk modelling. Ensure portfolios are managed on an ongoing basis in line with objectives, constraints and investment guidelines. Assist with the implementation of dynamic asset allocation views and positionsPerform independent research, data analysis, apply relevant methodologies, draft written reports, prepare investment proposals, etc.Present to both client and internal investment committees. Attend new business pitches and represent Mercer's investment capabilities.Initiate and lead implementation of ideas that will improve the efficiency, accuracy or controls of team processes. Collaborate closely with colleagues in portfolio management, client service, sales, operations and other teams across the Asian region and globally.What You Need To Have7+ years relevant experience in an investment environment, such as portfolio management or investment consultingRelevant university degree at least a Bachelor level, such as in Economics, Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics or other analytically thorough disciplines. CFA Charterholder or Qualified Actuary or progression towards completion of CFA/actuarial qualificationsBilingual English/Japanese for communication with colleagues around the world, in addition to clients across a range of geographies.
