Job description: Technical Responsibilities: Monitor and measure the operational performance of the company’s mechanical equipment and identify areas for improvement through supervision of the Mechanical Preventive Maintenance (PM) System. Review and audit all mechanical work orders to ensure timely completion and satisfactory quality of input before closure. Support Maintenance Superintendents and Drilling Operations to ensure maintenance is delivered effectively. Personally conduct maintenance inspections of rigs under supervision and maintain accurate inspection records. Review and participate in equipment failure investigations. Assist in establishing root causes of failures and implementing remedial measures. Manage and direct resource utilization to minimize Non-Productive Time (NPT). Manage and oversee all maintenance activities on assigned rigs. Assist in developing and implementing appropriate technical standards within the company’s management system. Take accountability for overall rig mechanical maintenance staff, ensuring a motivated, disciplined, and productive workforce through effective leadership and communication. Evaluate supervised personnel and recommend promotions, salary adjustments, transfers, or terminations as required. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with the company’s Maintenance Management System requirements and guidelines.   Financial Responsibilities: Minimize overall mechanical equipment expenditure by maintaining the highest preventive maintenance standards. Support the organization in recovering costs from incorrect material deliveries and warranty claims. Control assigned rigs’ mechanical material costs by monitoring daily consumption. Reduce rig mechanical repair costs by minimizing reliance on external repair services.   Management / Administration Responsibilities: Liaise with Operations Management regarding rig and equipment performance. Organize and promote Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) activities with strong emphasis on safety. Maintain accurate records and logs using the company’s CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Plan and allocate KPIs for Mechanical Preventive Maintenance Engineers and oversee completion of annual performance appraisals. Train, coach, and evaluate Preventive Maintenance Engineers and other mechanical staff. Assist the Maintenance Manager in controlling inventory and managing the mechanical department’s budget. Coordinate with Drilling Superintendents and the Materials Department to ensure availability of critical spares and minimize downtime. Maintain effective communication with supervisors, subordinates, and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanic or equivalent with (8) years of experience. Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is mandatory.
