Job Position: Primary Teacher (General Subjects)Reports to: Head of PrimaryWorking location: Phnom Penh, CambodiaSalary: Competitive salary package, accommodation or housing allowance, medical insurance, flight allowance, and up to 100% tuition coverage for up to two children.Contract type: Full TimeContract term: Permanent Position SummaryOur client, an international school in Phnom Penh is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and child-centred Primary Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching and learning across the primary curriculum. As part of a growing school committed to British educational excellence, the role requires strong classroom practice, a commitment to pastoral care, and an ability to contribute positively to our vibrant school community.The Primary Teacher will play a key role in shaping pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development, fostering curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. They will work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a coherent curriculum, maintain high expectations, and ensure that all children flourish within school’s values of Discovery, Opportunity, Virtue, and Excellence. Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons across the primary curriculum (English, Maths, Science, Humanities, PSHCE, etc.) in line with British Curriculum expectations.• Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and academic progress.• Use assessment effectively to monitor, track, and support pupil progress, adapting learning to meet individual needs.• Maintain high expectations of behavior, modelling the school’s values and supporting pupils in developing positive attitudes to learning.• Integrate talk-rich learning, vocabulary development, and reading across all subject areas.Curriculum & Assessment• Contribute to the development of long-term planning, unit overviews, and curriculum progression for the assigned year group.• Use formative and sumative assessment to inform next steps and provide timely, constructive feedback.• Participate in moderation, internal assessment processes, and reporting to parents.• Support the integration of cross-curricular approaches including literacy, numeracy, digital learning and enquiry-based learning.Pastoral Care & Well-being• Provide daily pastoral care for the class, supporting children’s emotional, social, and behavioral needs.• Build strong relationships with pupils, fostering a safe, nurturing, and collaborative classroom environment.• Work closely with the pastoral team to identify and support pupils with additional learning, social, emotional, or safeguarding needs.• Maintain effective communication with parents through regular updates, meetings, and formal reporting.Professional Responsibilities• Collaborate with colleagues in planning, co-teaching, and sharing best practice within and across year groups.• Participate in staff meetings, INSET days, parent events, curriculum evenings, and wider professional development.• Contribute to school policies, improvement initiatives, and academic standards across the primary school.• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, behavior, and safeguarding concerns.Co-Curricular & School Contribution• Lead or support co-curricular activities, clubs, and events as part of the school’s enrichment programme.• Contribute to school performances, assemblies, theme weeks, open days, and community events.• Actively support the House system and contribute to the positive culture of the school.Operational Duties• Ensure the classroom is organized, safe, and well-resourced, following health and safety expectations.• Maintain up-to-date planning, assessment records, and documentation required by the school.• Work professionally and collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and specialist teachers.School Ethos & Conduct• Always act in the best interests of children, ensuring their safety, happiness, and holistic development.• Uphold and promote the values of RGSPP.• Model and adhere to the RGSPP Code of Conduct and professional expectations. Expected Profile of CandidatesBachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., QTS) is preferred.Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching in a primary school setting, ideally within a British-curriculum or international school environment.Strong understanding of primary pedagogy, assessment for learning, and child development.Experience working in culturally diverse settings and with pupils learning English as an additional language is desirable.Performs well under pressure; highly organized with strong attention to detail.Willingness to work flexibly in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities.Flexible, proactive, and adaptable mindset.Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
